To keep him focused on building I had him get his tools together before we began. I told him he would be a 'worker' and would need to build a big house. We have been reading so much about workers, builders more specifically, that he was ready to get started! I pulled out about 3 different blocks for him to use but he was most interested in these stacking blocks.
He was sure to use his hammer and saw as he built. I was sure to suggest he put the largest blocks on the bottom and build up from there. The blocks have a hollow side and he would put large blocks on top of the smaller ones and the hollow side would eat them up. He started to get it and made a nice tower.
But it did not stay that way long! Timber!!!!!
The best part is how much he enjoys the whole process! He repeated it over and over and laughed every time he knocked down his house. I loved seeing him use his tools on it as well!
