A is for Alligator
Today we started by reading Alligator Shoes by Arthur Dorros. Then we practiced tracing As. I put a picture of an alligator at the top of the A and on the side. I did this to show Jacob where to start when writing an A. We used Dry Erase crayons on laminated sheets. These crayons are great and easily erase so we can use them multiple times.
After tracing, we used a letter A stamp to "feed" the alligator. This activity helps practice seeing an A as a letter and reinforces that alligator (a word) starts with the letter A. In addition, it is a fun activity to keep interest and engagement up!
Just as a reminder, you can find more information about our Letter of the Week plans and printables here. We are spending about 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week on The Letter of the Week.
